Descendants of the two honorary co-chairs of the 2014 Delaware Investments U.S. Open came to the finals. Hashim Khan and Henri Salaun, the two finalists of the first Open in 1954, both passed away this summer. On Saturday October 18, Henri Salaun, Jr. was joined at Drexel by four of Hashim’s descendants: his son Sam, Sam’s son Seth, his nephew Gul and Mohibullah’s son Enamullah. It was a poignant moment for both families to gather together in honor of Khan and Salaun and to see how far the Open has come in the past sixty years.
