Drexel to Host U.S. Open Pre-Qualifying Finals Night September 12

The Philadelphia squash community is invited to enjoy the pre-qualifying finals for the 2017 U.S. Open presented by Macquarie Investment Management Tuesday, September 12, at Drexel’s Daskalakis Athletic Center.

The best squash players in the greater Philadelphia area have competed in the pre-qualifying draws throughout the summer, and now four men and women have emerged as finalists with a spot in the first round of U.S. Open qualifying on the line.

The women’s final will be the first match on court at 6pm local time, with the men’s final following on at 6:45pm. Follow live scores on www.clublocker.com.

Discounted tickets to all rounds of the U.S. Open will be available on site.

Both 2016 pre-qualifiers, Georgina Stoker and Dane Sharp, have progressed through the summer for another chance to enter U.S. Open qualifying.

Stoker, an English former touring professional and current teaching pro at Cynwyd Club, will face another former touring pro in the form of Irish international Madeline Perry.

Perry, former world No. 3, recently retired from the PSA Tour and has since taken up a coaching position at the Baldwin School.

Sharp, a former touring pro and current teaching professional at Merion Cricket Club, will play fellow Canadian Tyler Osborne.

Osborne, twenty-four years old, defeated fellow Princeton graduate Dylan Ward to reach his first pre-qualifying final.
