U.S. Open Celebrates Seventh Year of Support from Macquarie Investment Management

The 2017 U.S. Open Squash Championships has seen the Philadelphia community come together for a celebration of squash at Drexel University. Macquarie Investment Management, formerly Delaware Investments, is a proud supporter of organizations and events in the Philadelphia region and began its partnership with Drexel and US Squash in 2011.

The U.S. Open event has led the world in raising the bar for world-class squash tournaments, being the first to offer full parity in prize money for men and women in 2013, spurring the eventual merging of the women’s and men’s tours, and making parity for women and men the tour’s number-one priority. The Women’s Squash Association recognized this historic achievement by honoring the then-named 2013 Delaware Investments U.S. Open as Tournament of the Year.

“Like US Squash, Macquarie strives to create a workplace environment where people feel they can be themselves regardless of their gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or educational background,” said Shawn Lytle, president of Delaware FundsSM by Macquarie and deputy global head of Macquarie Investment Management. “We are proud to sponsor a tournament right here in our own backyard that shares these same values.”

Headquartered in Philadelphia, the firm recently rebranded itself as Macquarie Investment Management to reflect its global capabilities. Macquarie is a global asset manager with offices throughout the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The firm manages assets on behalf of investors worldwide, across fixed income, equities, listed real estate, listed infrastructure, hedge funds, and multi-asset solutions. In the US, retail investors recognize our Delaware Funds by Macquarie as one of the longest-standing mutual fund families, with more than 75 years in existence.

“We are very proud to partner with, and promote, Macquarie,” said US Squash President and CEO Kevin Klipstein. “Their loyal support and deep engagement has made the U.S. Open a premier Philadelphia sports event and a world-leading squash championship. Leading by example, recognizing excellence, and valuing performance are all values we share with Macquarie.”
